Multiple NICs

I have a laptop with a wireless card that I use to
connect to my wireless router which is connected to my
DSL modem. I also have an integrated NIC that I use to
connect to my home PC just to transfer files. Whenever I
plug in the cable to connect to my home PC, I can no
longer access the Internet through my wireless card, only
if I unplug the cable from the port. Is it even possible
to be able to use both my wireless card and my ethernet
port? I use XP Pro with static IPs.

I have not tried this, because I use an alternative configuration:
both the laptop and the Desktop PC are connected to the router. The
router may provide a NIC for a cable connection; if so, you could
network the computers on this way.
 
When you connect your RJ45 in disable the wireless connection. Sounds like
you have a binding conflict. Or you can go DHCP on the Wireless connection
then Static on the LAN connection. In either case what ever you have
connected should give you internet access.
