Multiple networks Laptop hardware profile

I'm using a laptop with w2k and I want to use DHCP at home and a static IP
at work. I don't have a docking station with a separate network card so I
decided to create 2 hardware profiles. I copied my actual profile with
static IP and renamed it "Office". I rebooted choosing this profile and
configured my network card to use DHCP. When I rebooted choosing my static
IP profile, it had changed to DHCP as well. What am I doing wrong?

On top of that, when I go into the properties of my profiles, the whole
section named "this computer is a laptop..." is greyed out. I am an
administrator on this machine.

Any hint would help

Hardware profiles will work with two network cards. Boot to the work
profile and disable the other card. Boot to the home profile and disable
the work card.
