Multiple Network Connections

I have a laptop I need to connect to multiple networks, mostly are static IP
ethernet connections.

I'm sure I've seen PC's with multiple connections listed in the network
connections panel.

Every time I click on "new connection" it takes me through the "wizard" but
no connections show up.

Ideally, it will try them all in a selected order until it finds a network.
Otherwise, I can manually chose a connection.

How do I set this up. (I'm already using the alternate configuration setup
between 1 of them and home, but I have several others that use static
addresses.)

I appreciate any help.

Hi Tim,

I don't know that Windows has the capability to
sequentially attempt connections to more than 2 networks
(the main one and the priviate IP configuration). I may
be wrong though. However, it sounds like a product
called NetSwitcher is more what you're needing.
NetSwitcher allows you to configure all your network
connections in advance (great, since you have static IPs)
and when you connect from one network to another, no
reboot is required. Supports all versions of Windows
back to 95 and it even supports dial-up accounts (so DHCP
is supported if needed).

Check it out at http://www.netswitcher.com

The only way to get multiple network connections in the Network
Connections panel is to install multiple physical network adapters.
Each adapter uses one, and only one, connection.

I agree with Dan Embry's suggestion of NetSwitcher. Another similar
program is MultiNetwork Manager:

Thank you both for verifying what I've been told - That I'm looney!

I could have sworn I'd seen this done before. In today's mobile world, MS
disappoints me (like that's new) that this can't be done. This is like an
appliance that can only be plugged into one particular outlet.

I will look into this Netswitcher thing. It looks like the ticket from first
glance.

Thanks,
Tin
