multiple network adapters

In device manager I under network adapters I have around
15 devices listed. Around 13 of them are McAfee Firewall
miniports. The other two I believe are WAN. My NIC cannot
communicate with my cable modem. I know there is a
conflict but cannot resolve it. When I go to uninstall the
devices listed under network adapter it tells me "cannot
uninstall required for boot up". How do I get rid of these
devices so my NIC can communicate with the cable modem.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can stop the McAfee firewall service and then try to remove those
adapters or boot into Safe mode (press F8 button when it's booting up) and
then remove the extra adapters. You might also want to select View, hidden
devices in Device manager to see "all the devices installed" listed, even
those that may not be present (such as USB NICs if you had any).
