Have a XP home system that is not able to access the DHCP
that is working fine on all other systems here. The
problem being is that I have tried to remove the adpater
from the system via device manager but it will not allow
me to remove it giving me a error stating that it is a
device required for booting. I have also tried installing
a differnt adapter and now that adpater (even after being
physically removed from the system) gives me that same
erro when I try to remove it from device manager even
thought it is no longer even in the system. The other
question I have is why does each time I disable the
adapter that teh next time I start teh system and the hard
ware is reinstalled that the adpater is shown as adpater #
2 or 3 etc. now I am up to adapter # 9 and it will not
enable or show any sort of connection to the network at
all.
I have removed all Malware etc. and my updates are current
and Antivirus is completely upto date.
