Multiple MSTSC.EXE processes running

I work from home, a lot, by connecting into my work computer using Remote
Desktop over our corporate Cisco VPN.

When I connect, I do what I want to do, then, open up START and select
Disconnect, as I want my Desktop (Console) session to not close, which it
would do, if I just logged out.

I'm getting multiple MSTSC.EXE processes on my work computer, now, which I
have to close, taking forever, when I DO restart my work computer. This is
unlike a regular TS connection on Server 2003, where I can connect and
disconnect to the same session multiple times.

How can I get around these multiple sessions, but still not logoff my
Console session?

Thanks!

Hi

Having the same problem on 4 XP machines. We all work in the IT Team
and RDP all day long. We have many mstsc.exe processes running and like
you we have to end them all before shut down. Have you managed to fix
this?

Regards

Carl

No. I wish XP would behave like TS on a server...<G>

When you say 4, you mean it as all the ones you RD to, not just that 4, out
of all the ones you RD to, have this problem, and the rest work fine?

Reason I asked is that several people tell me that they RDP in and do NOT
have this problem...

Thanks!
