Can anyone help me out with some news on setting up a
second monitor for my system?

Is it necessary that i have a PCI or AGP card so i can
plug the second monitor into this?
I've heard that i may need 2 cards of some description, 1
for each monitor? Is this true?

Is there a cheap easy wasy of linking up a second monitor?
Just so i can drag certain things onto the other monitor
so i can look at 2 things at once etc....?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Usually, if your AGP card does not have a second monitor connector (VGA or
DVI with DVI/VGA converter), you would need to install a PCI based video
card. You would want to use a card that is based on the same manufacturer
of your primary (AGP hopefully) video card. That is to say if you are using
a nVidia (or ATI) based video card as the primary video card, you should use
a similarly based second card. This is so that no driver conflict would
occur when you were to mix different video card makes.

I don't know if this is necessary, when I used two cards, one was a AGP card.
I suspect two cards of any type would work if your OS supports multiple
monitors. (I have done so with W2K and WXP)

Either that or a card with two output jacks. Now use such a card instead of my
two cards I used to have.

To drag things across, you need one of the above options.
