I am trying to install Philips 20 flatpanel but am having troubles as display
settings will not allow me to make it primary monitor due to laptop preset as
primary. Any ideas on how to switch it? Additionally cannot seem to make
the monitor reach its max resolution due to this setting?

What video graphics card do you have installed?

This is done using a video graphics adapter designed for multiple
monitors or by using a KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switching device. If
you graphics card supports more than one monitor you need to access the
"Display Properties" dialog and click on Settings tab. When you connect
both monitors up you should see #1 and #2 listed in the dropdown list
under "Display". One is primary monitor and the other can be set to
extend the desktop.

In any case you will need the proper cables. As for the second monitor
itself, Windows should already have a driver in the database for it. If
not most new ones come with a driver CD.
