multiple monitors

i am having a problem trying to install a second monitor...using a nvidia pci
card and my mother board display output

That's too bad.

If you tell us what hardware and software is involved, and what error
messages are occurring, we might be able to help.

try going to the bios and setting the pci one as the first.
if its already set like that, try the opposite.

I have been able to configure many multimonitor systems with
onboard cards....

post back if you need help

Multiple monitors generally are not possible with on-board video and another
card...

you will have better results if you use two pci video cards
and disable on-board video...

or get one video card designed for two monitors

Open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager.
Click on the + sign in front of the Display Adapters category header
to show the detailed items in this category.
Are there two entries listed there, one for your nVidia card and one
for the built-in display?

If not then your hardware is not designed to use both adapters
simultaneously and when the nVidia card is detected the on-board video
is automatically disabled.

What is the make and model of your motherboard? It may be possible to
reconfigure the video settings in the BIOS setup.
