Hello everyone ...

I have a question regarding Windows XP Multiple Monitors. I have a Dell
Inspiron 8600 notebook and i try to project my display on a screen via
a Toshiba TLP60 Beamer ... As you know you can switch between several
view types by pressing FN + F8. I am not able to have my windows
desktop on the screen AND on the large screen. I can see a background
without icons and i can slide an icon to the right of my laptop screen
and it appears on the large screen ! So it seems he's projecting my
second monitor ...
But I don't want that ! I tried almost everything ... i updated my bios
, disabled devices ... reinstalled monitors ... but the problem
persists ...

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi,

I think that in your system multiple monitors is turned on a thats why you can drag icons onto the screen projected. TO turn this off... go to the Display Properties and then the settings tab... from the Drag down menu... select the multiple monitor... the NON-DEFAULT one and then UNcheck the box next to which it says Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor... then next time u plug in the projector... simply toggle the Views with the FN+ F8 and it should work

Hi,

First make sure you installed the latest graphic drivers for the laptop.
Also!!! make sure the beamer is not connected when you start your
laptop. That will make the beamer the second monitor, or the primary.
Make sure its unplugged. When XP started, connect the beamer.

The graphic drivers should give you more options.

Regards,

ROel
