Use one LAN card and setup Home Networking properly:

I forgot to add in that i have 1 on board netowrk chip and i want to install a PCI networking card

Buy the correct reuter, connect modem to reuter and pc's to reuter

actually to resolve the issue first verify.....

1.) the chipset on your onbaord lan controlle
2.) the chipset on the network pci add in card you are trying to us

make sure these are different manufacturers. that's right different. this is a situation where you never want the same manufacturer to provide both pieces of hardware. it seems to run counter to what you'd expect for compatibility but nothing but problems arise when trying to use more than 1 lan adapter from the same manufacturer. sometimes a different revision of the chip will avoid conflict but sometimes not. so.... 3com, linksys, intel, broadcom, and via should all play well together but not 2 of the same
