Multiple IE Windows!

muddled

Unable to get on the internet from my other computer. Once
there is a connection to network, multiple IE windows
launch until my system crashes. Can't download any updated
dat files...don't know why this is happening.
 
Does it do this in safe mode also? I would check the startup group, and if
you are confident of your abilities check the registry also in the
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and the same in HKCU

If that last bit doesn't make any sense to you, don't mess with your
registry.

I would also advise that you get a hold of a program called Spybot Search
and Destroy because you may have some spyware or other settings that are
causing this problem. It is a free download and is highly recommended for
killing off spyware and such.

Sounds like you will need to use another computer to get this program. Keep
yours off the network until you can scan it.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

check for trojan virus, msnarrator it is in your registry
file and in winnt, i have delted it tiwce and it keeps
coming back. Any help? After deleting however, symantec
is able to quarantine it at least.
