Even though I have selected "open in same window" for
file folder options when I select a folder in the right
hand pane, that folder and its contents open..This is not
what I need it to do, it needs to open in the same window.

If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it,,
Thanks in advance,

Are you using single-click or double-click settings in Folder Options>
General? Single click is point to select and click once to perform the
default action. It sounds like this is the settng that you're using
but you're expecting the behavior you would get using the double-click
settings instead. Try changing the setting to see if it helps.

PS: The default double click setting for folders is Explore. Change
your view in Windows Explorer to the two paned view (click Folders
button in standard toolbar). Clicking from one folder to the next in
the right pane will keep everything in one window.
