I have just switched to outlook from outlook express and
have set up my email accounts. I have 8 accounts for my
business. When outlook cends and receives the first 3
addresses work fine but the next 5 all get the
error..."sending and receiving reported error
(0x800CCC0F). The Connection to the Server was
interrupted". I have checked all the addresses and the
all work correctly. I have changed the order of the
accounts and it is always the first 3 that wok and the
next 5 (whichever 5 are next) that get the error. I have
rechecked my mail on my old machine that is running
express and it checks all 8 accounts fine. I went to
outlook on my new machine because I had heard how much
better it is for businesses but I can't see to get it to
handle more that 3 accounts. Please Help...

What version of Outlook do you have? Are some of the accounts just
different mailboxes on the same server?

I have outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625)
and Yes they are all addresses on the same server. I have
been checking the for 2 years now with express and have
had no problems.

That's what I suspected. Outlook 2002 attempts to download from all
accounts simultaneously (Outlook Express and earlier versions of Outlook
download accounts one-at-a-time). I'd hazard a guess that your server only
allows up to 3 connections at a time from the same computer (as a security
measure to prevent someone from overloading the server), so the server
rejects the connection for each account once the first three connections are
made.

Outlook 2003 addresses this problem by only trying to make a single
connection to any given server at a time, while trying to download from as
many accounts as it can within that constraint. The only workaround I know
of in Outlook 2002 is to create seperate send/receive groups, each
containing the maximum number of connections your server will allow
(apparently 3 in your case) and synching them seperately.

I forget the exact menu selection in Outlook 2002 - I think it's Tools ->
Send/Receive Settings -> Define Send/Receive Groups.... Look around for it.
Once you've created your send/receive groups, do a send/receive with
Tools -> Send/Receive -> <the group name> for each group.

You might want to consider upgrading to Outlook 2003, though - not only does
it fix this problem, but it is faster, has a built-in spam filter, and has
other nice features.
