multiple documents on task bar

I think that's just the way it works! I don't think
there's any way to fix it.

multiple documents open on my task bar when opening a new
document instead of them all opening in one word document
on the task bar and using the windows menu to brush
between open documents in one application. In other
words, every time I open a new document it opens another
word tab on the task bar as if it is opening another
application of word.
 
Try this: Select Tools, Options, View and clear the Windows in Taskbar box.

Hi

Tweak UI is now supplied with Windows and it too has an interesting option
to group docs etc in the taskbar which have been opened by the same
application .
