I'm attempting to setup multiple displays on Windows 2000.
After reviewing knowledge base, HCL list from CD and video
card vendor web sites it is plain that there are several
ways to accomplish this.

My system currently has a Radeon 7000 series AGP card. KB
requirements say to setup primary display adapter on PCI
slot 0 or 1. Can the Radeon 7000 be used as secondary
card?

Without spending tons of money what video cards and
configurations work the best?

Thanks for your help...

Read the manual that came with card. If not available you can download from: http://www.atitech.com/support/manualpdf/index.html

Do not mix brand names. In other words buy an ATI PCI card. Do not install it in PCI slot that is shared with AGP card. (Usually the one one directly below AGP card). You may also need to change your primary graphic card in BIOS to PCI if you don't get a boot screen. Note this setting does not change your primary graphics card in Windows (read manual).

if all you need is a good 2D card (an not a gaming card), get a Matrox
G400/G450/G550 dual head card.

1 AGP slot, 2 VGA outs, and the drivers are absolutely wonderful.
