Multiple copies printed and will not stop.

I am running XP Pro and have a Brother HL1250 printer.
Sometimes when printing, it will not stop printing until I
shut off the printer, so multiple copies will be printed.
This is a fresh install of XP.
Antivirus running is Norton Corp. Ed. 8, if this helps.
This is a local printer and I share it, so other people
can use it.

Any ideas on what would cause this?
 
I also have the same problem using XP and a Brother MFC 4600 printer. Sometimes it prints fine, other times page after of garbage. If you find out why, please advise me at (e-mail address removed)
