multiple copies of xpsp1res.dll

I have copies of the file xpsp1res.dll residing in
multiple directories (28) Most of the copies are the same
file size.

Can someone explain what the file is used for and whey
there are so many directories?

From what I can determine, this file is associated with the MUI (Multi User
Interface) Language Packs. Look at the properties of different files and you
will notice that they are in different languages.
