Hi

I have a global address book whicih contains everyone at work.
I also have my own private contacts list which appears as a separate item in
the address book.
The problem I have is, everytime the we have a server problem, my contacts
list gets added again as a new folder, so I now have 5 Contacts folders in
my address book, 2 of which have my names in, the other 3 cant be opened.

Any ideas how to delete unwanted folders like this?

TIA

Go to Tools-> Address Book and in Address Book choose Tools-> Options...
Here you can add/remove address books

Tips of the month:
-Setting Permissions on a Mailbox
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Thanks for your suggestion, but that doesnt work.

I can apparently remove the multiple items from the list displayed showing
address books, but I am still left with 5 entries when I actually look in
the address book, 3 of which are empty.

In that case remove the Outlook Address Book service from your mail profile
(Tools-> E-mail Accounts-> View or change existing directories or address
books). Then restart Outlook so you can add it again and restart Outlook
again to make it active.

If you don't know how to do this you can find a step by step here;

Open your mail profile and remove the Outlook Address Book service. Stop
and restart Outlook. Open the profile again and add the Outlook Address
Book service back in.

FOr more explicit instructions, you need to specify your Outlook version -
always a good idea when asking a question.
