I am running Office 2003. My PST file was upgraded from Outlook 2000. When
I compose a message and attempt to open the address book, I get the
following error message...
"The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated
with the address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permission. For information on how to remove
this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Office Outlook
Help."
Now I have the address book open with no contacts listed. When I click on
the "Show name from the:" drop down I have the following...
Outlook address book
contacts
contacts
The default is selected to the first contacts list. If I select the 2nd
contacts list, I will see my contacts. I have found how to remove the error
by clicking on tools and then options. I then change the 2 drop downs to
the 2nd contacts.
How do I permanatently remove the empty contacts list? I only have one
contacts list in the main outlook window.
