Multiple braodband connections?

I have 2 broadband connections available to me for the next
month. I have DSL installed from sbcglobal.net and cable on
a trial basis from charter.net.

When I go to one of the speed testing sites, the cable
consistently checks out to be almost twice as fast as the
DSL connection. However, it seems to me that the cable
occasionally goes to sleep where it hesitates (and
sometimes times out) before beginning to download the page.
This would make a big effect on the speed issue.

Is there a way under xp home have both connected so I can
easily switch back and forth to check my theory?

I have XP home running on a small lan.

Thanks

The easiest way would be to connect each broadband connection to its
own individual network card. You could then go to the Network
Connections folder, enable the one that you want to use, and disable
the one that you don't want to use.

Thanks for the tip, Steve. I have a laptop with both an
802.11b and LAN connection. That should work. I appreciate
the lead.
