Multiple Auto Signatures - Prompt?

Hi All

Does anybody know a way in which I can get Outlook to prompt for which
autosignature to use on a message by message basis.

I have a number of users that have multiple roles within the business and
the signature needs to change depending on who they are sending the mail
message to.

Any ideas gratefully received!!!

Thanks

Prompt? Not that I know.
I have a number of users that have multiple roles within the business
and the signature needs to change depending on who they are sending
the mail message to.

Why can't they simply make that decision when they compose the message and
choose the recipient? Nothing beats thinking before clicking.

Hi Diane, thanks for your response.

Yes, mainly 2003 - although a couple of users are still on 2002(XP).

Don't tend to use Word as an email editor, but I'm starting to think this is
the way to go and perhaps have them create an autotext for each signature
they require. Is this what you had in mind?

Doesn't help with their Windows Mobile devices though! (I think we'll just
have to live with that!)

Not sure what you mean here Brian. (Thanks for the reply by the way!)

How do you see it working? They will know which autosig they need before
creating the message, is there a quick way of switching to another
autosignature from the default one?

Always the simple things that give the biggest challenges dont you think!

Well, I'm sure you could use VBA to pop up a dialog asking them to select
the signature.

2003 with word as the editor and 2007 allow you to right click on the
signature and select a new one - I think the users will like it. If they
have multiple accts, it will also change the signature to the one assigned
to the selected acct provided there is a default sig and a sig assigned to
the selected acct (use a blank sig if necessary)

Create a default signature, even if it's just a blank line or two hyphens.
Then right click that default signature and choose the signature they want
before they send the message, if that's not the signature they want. In
practice, I don't see how that is functionally any different than being
prompted for a signature.

If you don't intend to use Word as the editor, then don't specify a default
signature. Before sending the message, click the Signature button in the
Standard toolbar and choose the signature you want. This, too, is
functionally equivalent to being prompted (i.e., you must choose something).
