I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro, and I can not get any
sound. I thought the volume was turned all the way
down, but when I went to volume settings, I was told that
my sound driver was not working. I went to add new
hardware, which was unable to find the software for my
multimedia audio controller in order to play sounds. How
do I fix this?

Greetings --

Download and install the appropriate WinXP-specific sound drivers
from the web site of your sound card's manufacturer.

Reinstall the sound driver for your product. Download the proper XP driver
at the manufacturer's website if necessary. Jym
