2.4 Ghz multicore, is that two cores with a frequency of 2.4Ghz?

why isnt it said to be 4.8Ghz if theres two of them?

is it because they dont share the load?

(a) There're running at 2.4Ghz.

(b) The performance increase - compared to single cores - is anywhere from 0
to 90% depending upon the program. Therefore they're not twice as fast.

The same reason that two 52x speed CD burners don't equal one that burns
at 104x speed.

you are in your car...
each wheel is traveling at 50 miles per hour...
you have 4 wheels on your car...
so you must be traveling at 200 mph , right :)
