Multicore processors

Has anyone installed Win 2000 Pro on a multicore processor. Will 2000
pro recognize the 2 processors?? Will it be able to utilize the the
multi threading ccapabilities? Will be installing it on an AMD X2 3800
and have to use 2000 pro due to other software incompatibilities. Thanks
in advance.
 
FWIW Win2000 "misidentifies" Hyperthreading CPUs as two processors. So I
would expect it to see a dual core as two CPUs also.

While AMD doesn't exactly go out and say that processor will run on 2k
pro, the downloadable utitites for the chip do run on 2kpro. So I
presume it works just fine.
