Been on for weeks since installing Office 2007. Anyone know how to get rid
of the message?

How big is your pst-file?
Did you had many color-flagged messages in Outlook 2003?
A common reason why it could hang is when there are errors in the pst-file.
You can check it for errors with scanpst.exe. For details see;
