Hi there. I recently encountered a virus that forced me to reformat and
reinstall windows xp professional. This is on my new computer with two 160
gb hard drives configured as RAID 0. Before reinstalling windows, I
completely deleted all partitions and made a new one for a fresh start. i
installed xp as usual, but each time i start my computer, it asks me which
installation of XP i want to open--apparently it thinks I'm trying to
multiboot, but i don't want to. if i go to the second installation, it says
it's corrupt (or something).

my questions is, how can get rid of this second installation of windows so
my computer doesn't ask me which installation i want to open every single
time i start my computer.

Thanks a lot!!!

Go to START, RUN, type in MSCONFIG,
click on the BOOT.INI tab,
Click the CHECK ALL BOOT PATHS button.
It will detect the invalid line in your boot.ini file and
offer to remove it for you. Hope this helps.
