Hi,
the Vista Setup will ask you where you wish to install your Vista, so you
won't loose your XP. Dont use the 'Upgrade'!
Alex

I've tgried before but Vista didn't give any option. Yes it gave me the
option that there is folder exist with the name of Windows so for the Visat I
have selected a new folder with the name of Vista but after installation
there were no dual boot option it was only vista.

Hi!

You should use GRUB for dualboot, im using GRUB for XP/Ubuntu on a laptop.

But I`m wondering if you Alexander knows if there are any compications on
upgrading to RC1? No personal data will be deleted, I keep everything as it
is?? Documents, Programs, Pictures etc.

What is GRUB and where to get it?

you DO NOT NEED to install GRUB, unless you are planning on using a Linux
distro.
since you already have two partitions all you need to do is first find which
partition is ACTIVE, that will be the partition that has the BOOT info for
XP, now write down the number of the partition that is not active. make sure
you dont have anything in there that you dont want to loose.
now begin to install vista using the CUSTOM option and choose the partition
that you wrote down. that is all you need to do, vista will recognize that XP
is installed and leave it alone, and Vista will automatically make an entry
in the BOOT.ini so you will be faced with an option everytime you start your
computer.

Thank You. I'll download it and check it out. Thansk again. I'll put this
conversation on my User Group website. I don't think you would have any
objection
