Multi-Recipient E-mail (Distribution List) Privacy Issue

We just recently started using Exchange Server 2000, but
we use a 3rd party ISP and POP3. The administrator says
we can't have our server or ISP...or whatever...
configured to "personalize" our multi-recipient
distribution list e-mails when sending out
a company e-mail. In other words, he says we can only
use To: Client, or To: "non-personal title or name". To
personalize the recipient's name would require all names
to be visible to the others. I want each person's name
shown in the To: box....by itself, without divulging all
of our other client's names. For example, one e-mail
would show To: Bob Smith (and nothing more). Another
recipient e-mail would be: To: Jim Johnson (and nothing
more). He says it can 't be done. Another IT person
from another company says it can be done. Any
suggestions?

Put your name in the To: field, and the list of recipients in the Bcc:
field. Each person will get a mail with only your name and their name on
it. Or leave the To: filed blank if your server/ISP will allow it (some
don't). That's not exactly what you want, but basically. Each recipients
name would show in the Bcc filed on his copy and no other names would be
reveled to him. The only other way is to use 3rd party mailing list type
software.

I think the 3rd party mailing software is the direction I
want to go. I just wasn't sure if we could "configure"
our existing Outlook, or other program without adding a
new program.

Thank you.
