how many monitors can I have on an XP system?

right now I have two from the built-in card : analog and digital dvi port
one each.
If I add another video card, can I add more monitors and what type of video
card should I add?


right now I have 2 GB of Ram on Asus A8NVm-csm with NVIDIA Gforce6150
built-in video card

Ten.

The limit is much more likely to be on how many video cards you can install
than on what XP supports.

One that fits into a slot available on your motherboard.

Actually it's still nine (so that you can arrange them in one big 3x3 rectangle). I am certain that they used to say that the
maximum was 16 back when Windows 98 came out and first began supporting multiple displays but a quick search came up empty. I
remember this because back then it was a ridiculous statement since even two displays was still out of the realm of conceivability
for all but the likes of Bill and Oprah. :)

Sure, you can even add TVs to the TV out connectors.


Whatever you want, although it's better to avoid mixing brands since they don't really like each other and can sometimes get into
fights and mess up the house.

thank you all. nice to know it supports up to 10. in my case I guess
probably at most 4 to 6.


but budget wise, I will add only one more probably using a NVIDIA geforce
card on the pci express 16 slot
