Is there any freeware, or another way, that will allow me to send the
same email to many recipients at once, with each one's address
appearing in the TO box, but not showing the other recipients
addresses?

It's called "BCC" (blind carbon copy). In OE, you would start a new mail and click on the CC. In the window that opens there is an area for Bcc recipients.

The names won't show in the "To" box but will in the "Bcc" box. The recipients won't see the other recipients.
