Multi Boot Disk

I am still trying to install Norton System Works on my PC, one of the issues
I am having is that I get the message: "GoBack has detected a Multi Disk and
cannot be installed in a Multi Boot disk". Previously I had a virtual DVD
drive on my PC but have since removed it. This is the first time I have
seen the message and do not even know how multi boot disk came to be on my
system, or what it exactly is.

My PC is a home pc, nothing special. How do I correct this multi boot disk
thing? Never before have I received a message saying I had a multiboot
disk.

Thanks, Bob

Bob I have to agree with John. It could be that your PC has a hidden
partition that the system uses to restore your PC.

Many years ago i used to be a big fan of Symantec products. As far as i was
concerned they could do no wrong. Then, as time went on, i realised thatmany
of the newsgroup problems related to symantec software. After a time i
realised, from personal experience, that the symantec applications on my own
pc were actually causing more problems than they were curing. It was at that
stage that i showed all my symantec applications the door.

Yes, the solution supplied by John ( from Symantec) did not work. I still
have another persistent issue with this installation (error message showing
next to email scan) that I have been unable to fix via Symantec's solutions.
My Symantec Systemworks 2005 had no issues, worked just fine. But 2006
which I installed on 2006-06-04 is one issue after another.

thanks for your assistance

To see what you ACTUALLY have on your system:

1. Administrative Tools | Computer Management
2. Click on Disk Management

This will show all partitions (hidden or otherwise), who have on your
system.

I agree about GoBack ... I have heard nothing but problems with that product
.... Two of my friends had to reformat their drive and reinstall everything
when they had problems. It is so imbedded in the OS, that it is difficult
to uninstall.

I followed Larry's instructions and see only my C drive and D drive, nothing
to indicate there are partitions on my C drive. At the bottom of the
Computer Management window (in the frame) I see "Primary Partition, but
again nothing to indicate any partitions. The graphic for the drive shows a
long solid blue bar. Am I reading this correctly?

thanks, Bob

If you have a C: and D: partition, GoBack may be looking at drive D: and
determining that is a System Drive.
What was on it before (if previously used) and what is on it now?

Anything that appears as a OS setup (boot.ini, ntldr, ntdetect.com, ...)
some apps see this as a bootable device.
Was there anything that modified the boot block/sector?

"D" is my CD-Rom, the only drive holding any system drive has been my "C"
drive. I would not know how to tell if anything modified the boot
block/sector.
