nice price and you can use your old system as a dedicated cruncher:D
My brother is picking the "bits" up today from the Manchester Computer show ... he kept asking why I didn't use my existing memory ... He still does not understand that this PC is a cracking little 'cruncher' and will stay as is.

You ARE nuts!!!!! :D :D :D
Is that comment based upon this decision, or on a high volume of previous experience?:D

I think I can guess, but would like to know the real answer Quads ;)

My Xmas present of all the family ... they all chipped in money.

:)
That's quite a good idea, and at least you don't end up with a pile of socks that you don't want or didn't need!:(

As a fellow 939'er I should welcome you to the club. At those prices, I might be asking for more information, particularly if you can get them all in a very small case!

Enjoy your new toy/present, we expect a progress report on how well it's going ...:thumb:

Thank you CI ... I will give you a blow by blow account. ;)

Spec' change ... vid card now a 6600GT ... and I added a 200gig 8mb Cache HD to the list. :thumb:

What the hell, may as well @ £48 for the HD :D

Sorry mucks, just couldn't resist that, lol ;)

A sweet system, is that a SATA or PATA HDD?

I only have one Sckt 939 system, my daughter's machine, it's an AMD 3000 64 in an Asrock Dual SATA II board, it runs well :) Not a top class system, still has an AGP 9800 Pro and only 512Mb RAM, but it Ok.

Well I knew you'd not let me down ... to be honest, it is "no name" 'cos I don't know what he (my brother) is getting me ... :p

I'll let you all know what, and if, it is any good ... I won't have any bother with RMAs though, will I. ;)

HD is just an IDE ... save me own penny's for the SATA stuf later. :thumb:

Nearly identical to my new system ..Except yours appears to cost about £200 less..Top man Mucks..;)

Yeah well, I should not have posted that as I cannot offer those prices out to anyone ... my bother gets the stuff @ cost.

It will probably be more like £350 by the time I have everything, but at least I'm not paying for it all.

I was going to rip the heart out of this one I'm using at the moment, but I have decided to just put it all in a new case instead.

:D

I`m not moaning !!! if it was not for all your advice my system would have cost me a fortune...
Happy Crimbo and thanks m8 ..
