msystombstone file in use

Using MsA 2000, I have a database that suddenly will not open. I get the
error message that the msysteombstone file is in use.

In the past, this database has been copied onto a laptop or zip drive, so it
became a replicated database. I'm not trying to sync or anything. I'm not
sure what happened to cause this problem.

How do I get past it? I just want to get into my database. Waaaaa!

Thanks, sniff! sniff!

msystombstone is, as far as I know, only used when replicating
database.

Someone must've used the breifcase to do so. said:

You probably want to remove replication from the MDB. But I'm not
sure of the details so try asking your question in the replication
newsgroup. Or search at the Knowledge Base at support.microsoft.com.

Note that when an MDB is replicated the autonumber fields have been
changed from increment to random so this may cause some confusion when
you are looking at the raw tables.

Someone must've used the breifcase to do so. <shudder>

That would be me. Is it not a good idea to put a microsoft database file
into briefcase? Apparently, if this is the result. Thanks for the info.
I'll go look for the replication group.
