msvbvm60.dll, MSCOMCTL.OCX files

when install Visual Basic program, will it overwrite the msvbvm60.dll,
MSCOMCTL.OCX files in the Windows\System directory, even I have this files?
Or this depends on program?

Normally if the files you have are newer they will not be overwritten. A

Why on earth install an out-of-date VB6 (VB98) application anyway? 2002
(technically 2001) when the .NET Framework 1.0 & Visual Studio 2002 came out
started the process of making Visual Studio 6 applications obsolete

As Stan says you will get an overwright prompt. The MS Common Control comes
in all the Vusial Studio 6 Service packs which update the control licenses &
the registry information
