I downloaded a file from PresentersUniversity.com with a *.mst file
extension that I would like to use as a powerpoint background.
Powerpoint does not recognize this type of file nor can I find any
application that will open it. I tried renaming it with a *.pot
extension but go nowhere doing that either. How does one go about using
one of these files?

Corel templates won't work with PowerPoint. Looks like you downloaded a
Corel file.
