Windows 98 comes with the added Personal Web Service program to help
build up web pages. I am just getting involved in building up a web
page and have never made one up. I was reading a book on Windows 98
and it explained how to make up a web site using Personal Web Server
and how to set it up from the Windows 98 CD.

How do you set this up in Windows XP? Is there anything in XP that
allows you to do a web page?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you're running XP Pro, it comes with Internet Information Services (Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components). It is not installed by default. If you're running XP Home, you'll have to look into 3rd party web server software such as Apache and others. Many are free and will suit most home users' needs.

Thanks Doug, will look into that. One question, can I use the one that
comes with my Windows 98??

I can't answer that for you. In the early days of XP it could be done. I don't know that something in SP1 or SP2 hasn't broken that ability.
