In the last week it has gotten so that either Outlook
Express won't start at all - the Outlook Express blue
block comes up but then it just sits there, or this error
will come up "The instruction at "0x00fe69df" referenced
memory at "0xffffffff". The memory could not
be "written". Click ok to terminate the program." Then,
if I click ok it goes ahead and starts. I read about this
being possible corruption in identities registry keys and
advice to work in regedit, which makes me nervous. Can
anyone help me? Is there any way to reinstall Outlook
Express and fix the problem?

Hi! I received the same error message --- only when opening outlook
/ outlook express. I went thru the help at Microsoft and then I read
an interesting thing about MSN messenger.

So... here's that I did. I recently installed Microsoft Messenger MSN
on the computer, and I uninstalled it. That took care of the error.

Not sure what is going on, but I suspect to re-install MSN messenger
would probably be easy fix to this.
