Hi,

I've been running 64-bit Vista for over a month with no problems. Now,
MSNBC.COM beta in Media Center reports, Invalid Application Unable to
Launch. Is this supposed to happen? Is this a fixable problem? If not, can
this now invalid application be uninstalled?

I get the same message. I'm also running 64 bit Vista Ultimate. This is the
first time I've tried msnbc.com. I notice it's a beta. That may be the
problem.

It worked fine for over a month for me, so I assume that Microsoft has
turned off the internet connection. Why they would do that is a strange
mystery. If you go to http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ and then click on MSNBC TV,
you get precisely the same services. The Media Center client was much better
because it was well integrated, had playlists and search features. My only
idea of why Microsoft would do this is to discourage greater use and reduce
bandwidth. Can any MVP comment on this?

I should also mention that you can get some MSN video in 64-bit Yougle.
64-bit Yougle in Media Center is great, I love it.

Microsoft does not turn off (or on) any internet connections. Tyro has the
obvious answer.

OK then, I guess the next question would be, does Microsoft plan to release
an alpha version? It was a nice client and I miss my political news.
