I have down loaded version 7.0 of MSN. However, version
4.7 is already installed with windows XP. Does anyone
have a clue how to stop version 4.7 loading as it's dam
annoying having both versions pop up! I have the
Microsoft Natural Keyboard, I CANNOT get the hot key to
log in with the new MSN 7.0! Any advice would be greatly
appreciated!

Actually, these are two different products. You might need to keep both.

The thing which is version 4.7 is "Windows Messenger", and ships with
Windows. There are later versions 5.0 available.

The thing which is version 7.0 is "MSN Messenger".

These are different. For instance, Windows Messenger has the ability to
request a "Remote Assistance" call, which I have never found a way of doing
with MSN Messenger. MSN Messenger is loaded down with toys, beels, and
whistles.

To stop Windows Messenger launching at Windows startup, launch Windows
Messenger, pull down its Tools menu, select Options, tab Preferences,
uncheck "Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts".

Because MSN Messenger is not Windows Messenger, you will need to re-assign
the hot key.
