To whom it may concern. After many hours of searching help and support sites and e-mailing information over and over again, I found that the problem went away when I disabled both McAfee security and McAfee firewall. Wish MNS, Dell, IE, Microsoft, or my ISP had told me that upront.

Hi Bill,

I wish you had seen my support page, it would have saved you time..
Step 4 lists firewalls as playing a major part with Zone access issues.
Although this might be too late to help you, hopefully this thread will
help others. Thanks for posting your findings to the newsgroups Bill!

How did you disable them. I went through the control panel and changed the setting to stop, but I am still having this problem. I recall yesterday, that McAfee made some updates that were automatically installed, and right after then the problem did start. I never downloaded the updates to Windows. Someone help!!!!!!!

Hi Gap,

There are 3 ways to disable a firewall:

1. Right click it's systray icon and select Exit or Disable;
2. Go into Admin Tools / Services and STOP it's service;
3. Turn on XP's port firewall and uninstall the application firewall
(if the above works, reinstalling the firewall fixes many issues).
