msn sign in prblems

hi all,
on my home computer, running xp home sp2 i am unable to log into anything
MSN based, or anything with the 'sign in' logo. I can't even log in to ebay.
any ideas on what the problem could be, i have run a virus check on AVG
which picked up 2 trojans but cleared them and i still can't access anything.

The ebay situation is something different & no trojan will stop that happening

Do you get any sign in errors or either MSN or ebay?

It could be something as simple as you have blocked cookies on those sites. Do
you see the P3P eye in IE in the statusbar?

These are the types of things you need to check?

MSN will tell you to clear browser cache for example

Open IE
TOOLS menu | INTERNET OPTIONS
Click CLEAR HISTORY/DELETE COOKIES/DELETE FILES...
Click OK to close INTERNET OPTIONS...

i can't sign in to ebay at all. when i go to 'my ebay' i get the error
message you get when you have no internet connection.
as far as i know i haven't changed any internet options.
