the part of messenger that 'paged a contact's mobile phone' is not working --
any help with this would be appreciated. i made an earlier post on 4-7 in
regard to this. i had upgraded to msn messenger 7.5 and went back to 7.0 -
because this feature of paging a contacts phone has been available for at
approx. 2 yrs - contacts currently receive an error message "msn mobile is
temporarily unavailable" - this has happened since march 21st ---can you help
me w/this feature??

p.s. john jay smith suggested that i repost this thread so that
johnathan kay possibly could help with this unresolved problem
thanks to anyone that is able to give some insight

This is gonna bug you. I'm not Mr. Kay but... I do understand that it works
wonders (the sending to a mobile) with the newer version of MSN. It's
actually called Windows Live Messenger and is in beta at this time and is
subject to invite but someone will happily send you an invite if you ask.
That just *might* be the solution you're looking for but that's just me
interjecting a stop-gap measure until the guru gets here. ;-)

As MSN has moved from one backend system to another over for the years for MSN Mobile, this
feature has been known to "break" accounts (including my own once).

What needs to happen to fix whomever you're trying to "page" needs to go to MSN Mobile
(http://mobile.msn.com), sign in using their Messenger Passport and set up their device again
from scratch. That usually fixes the problem.

Is information stored on their server for the contact in other words? It's
been ages since I've messed with it.

I tried this feature way back when... It was, well, spotty at best IIRC. I
haven't been much on using mobile services since, wow... Right after some
announcement with Qualcomm? Err... Or maybe just before it? Wow... It's been
that long? Sheesh.
