Having just got rid of the sumom B worm, which my daughter picked up on MSN
Messenger, can anyone tell me how I can set AVGfree version to scan any
incoming files, folders, pictures messages or anything else she might be
sent, in Messenger

Tools>Options>File Transfer>Scan for viruses using: <browse for the AVG
folder>

That's for MSN 7 Beta. Pretty similar for MSN 6.

The one to use is avgw.exe
