msn messenger sound with web cam???

My son has a web cam - when he invites me to view it I
can but windows xp doesn't allow & declines any audio,
stating that I don't have a sound card or one was not
selected????
 
Both of you run the Wizard again and make sure each selects a mic that is
connected to the sound card and select the sound card for the system. Not
the mic in the camera, if one.
