This only started recently.... I try to sign into msn messenger...and it
starts to sign in...and then freezes and wont respond...

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling...updating...everything I could
think of... but it still does it..and it's really beginning to bother me.
Could someone help me out in this area

Thanks!

Greetings,

One solution for this is if you've had the debug log file on and its grown too big. To
correct, go to your My Documents\My Received Folder and if you have a MsnMsgr.txt file,
delete it and then try signing in. If this works, be sure to click the Tools menu, then
Options, Connection category, then Advanced Settings button, and uncheck the box under
'Connection Logging'.

If that didn't help the problem, you could try completely removing your contact cache store.

To do so, shut down Messenger, then clicking Start, then
Run, type:
%appdata%\Microsoft

Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. Then restart Messenger and see if
the problem has been corrected.

Finally, if you're still experiencing the problem and you're using a router in your network
configuration, you might want see if there is a firmware updates available for your
particular router model from the manufacturer.

hi

i have the same problem since yesterday, and it only happens with one
of my two accounts. I have tried all that you have said in your message
and continues freezing at login.

the secuence is:
i type my login/password
messenger log in
shows my contact list
the messenger contact list windows works for 2 or 3 secs
then, when is going to show up live messenger today (or whatever, i'm
spanish, in spain is named "live messenger hoy"), the window freezes
and thats all, i cannot do nothing than kill the application.

i have tried to uninstall, reinstall, delete the msn messenger folder,
search for MsnMsgr.txt, and all the things in your post. nothing seems
to work.

I have thinked that maybe if i could deactivate the showup of live
messenger today, tweaking something in the registry or something like
that. do you know how to do it?

thanks in advance.
