Can I assume that if I can send file and send webcam to one or two
users, and not to others, that my firewall, router, etc... are set up
perfectly to allow these facilities?

I'm trying to convince my MSN contacts that the problems are on their
end...but they don't seem convinced!

Greetings Evan,

Quick answer: maybe.

MSN Messenger 6.x allows you to send files through the Messenger server itself and the webcam
functionality allows a relay server to be used, so neither feature requires a direct
connection (as long as your contacts are using MSN Messenger 6.x as well). As such using
just the information you've given, it's hard to say that everything is fine on your end.

What kind of problems are your contacts experiencing?

I was able to send my webcam to my brother and old friend, no problems.

Two other buddies, who said they were running MSN messenger 6.1 were not
even informed of my attempt to send the webcam. On my end I got a
message along the lines of "Your invitation to start webcam cannot be
sent because SO AND SO doesn't have a version of messenger that supports
it"
