MSN Messenger and Hotmail share the same contact list?

Sorry if this has been asked before.
I wonder if it is the normal procedure that deleting a contact
from the Hotmail contact list, will also delete that contact from
the MSN Messenger contact list?

Yep, they use the same Contacts store.

I hope they fix this irritating and STUPID feature! It downloaded all my
emails contacts into MSN, AND when you delete someone you have to delete the
contact again... so you have to delete 2 things each time...

What kind of grass are they growing at redmond? Perhaps some weed???

That's because you're using WLM, which is even further integrated the contact stores.

As I understand it from other forums: Deleting MSN contacts will not remove
those contacts from the Hotmail contact list. But deleting Hotmail contacts
will also automatically erase those entries from the MSN contact list.
