Chris

I used to talk to one of my contacts through NetMeeting
using the voice chat until recently when my contact
reinstalled the machine and put back MSN Messenger. The
video seems fine but the audio is terrible. One of the MS
Kb articles said to uncheck "Use IP Header Compression"
through the Dialup Properties. It's unchecked on this
machine. On the other machine (WinMe), right clicking it
doesn't allow it since it is greyed out but this machine
is just fine.

Any suggestions?

Yes -- The audio is terrible and can't hardly hear the
contact. It breaks up and then I just can't hear the
person.

Since I'm having problems with MSN Messenger 6, do you
think going back to MSN Messenger 5 will fix my problem?

Hi Chris,

They use different RTC (Real-Time Communication) libraries, so perhaps.

Also, you and your contact might try turning off the QoS Packet Scheduler. To do so, click
Start, then click the Control Panel. If you're in category view click Network and Internet
connections then click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection,
then click Properties. Uncheck the QoS Packet Scheduler, and try again.
