MSN Messenger 6.2 Installation fails

I Try to upgrade my existing Messenger 6.1 to 6.2 but get the error code
2755 during the installation, and I should check that the messenger.msi is
accessible, but this one I checked already. Any help appreciated.

Greetings Stephan,

Do you happen to be on the Windows Installer 3 beta (or have installed it otherwise)? If so,
simply go to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, remove Windows Installer 3 and then
try again.
